My primary research interest is Renaissance studies, with a secondary specialization in Film & Media studies. I am currently completing a book on Niccolò Machiavelli that requires a significant DH component in order to be completed and persuasive; the chapter in question entails a "digital palimpsest" of late medieval and Renaissance Florence. I am also designing a "Reacting to the Past" pedagogical game on the era of Machiavelli; the game is being play-tested at five institutions this year, and DH can also be of use there in terms of sophisticated environment mapping.
