I'm a folklorist and an English teacher at Bard High School Early College in Newark, NJ. I'm an humanist. I'm a secret librarian. I'm either fool-hardy or courageous enough to read _Siddhartha_ with forty urban tenth graders. I've probably seen too many episodes of Magnum PI. I might never see enough episodes of Magnum PI. The iPad tells me forty-two apps want to be updated and I can't believe that is possible. Once I taught the seminar writing in cyberspace and I loved that I knew so much less than the students and that every project was their idea and every idea they had challenged our definitions of project.
